Old Hunter
Meet the Old Hunter, the ultimate hunting and outdoor knife. Every detail of this knife has been optimized to make it the perfect tool for the tough jobs the wild presents.
It all starts with the shape. Each handle is individually shaped and finished by hand, making it fit perfectly in the hand, and comfortable to hold for long periods of time. The grip design allows the user to drop the hand lower for maximum striking power when chopping through bone, branches or brush, or choke up on the knife for precision sweeps and cuts when skinning. A heavy spine provides plenty of power for strikes, especially given the blade’s modest weight of 5.5 to 6 ounces. The spine was left at 90 degrees, and throws sparks from a firestarter beautifully. Made from hardened and tempered 52100 steel, it has good corrosion resistance while still maintaining the toughness and sharpen-ability of a carbon steel. The micarta handle not only looks and feels good, but it also performs well in the elements, retaining a good grip when wet or bloody and cleaning easily. Topped off with a “Stardust” stonewashed finish, and housed in a kydex sheath, the Old Hunter is ready for anything.
We proudly make our blades in-house and source all our materials in the US. However, we refuse to slap the price tag on our work that normally comes with the “Made in the USA” label, and we strive to bring the best possible no-frills blades at an affordable price point.
We sharpen all our knives by hand, which takes longer than a typical ground edge, but lasts much longer and leaves a frighteningly sharp edge. Please use them in a safe manner.
Because our knives are made by hand and not by computers or machines, your knife may differ slightly from the one pictured.
