Born From the Wild, For the Wild
Rod and Raven Forge began outdoors. Our designs and details come from firsthand experiences, from hunting and fishing, to camping and survival. In these situations, a knife isn’t just a tool, it’s a necessity. However, finding a knife that is functional and dependable in any situation is difficult. Factory knives can be low quality and unreliable, and unable to handle the abuse of the wild. Even the best production knives lack the character, ergonomics, and fit and finish that come from the craftsmanship of a handmade blade. That said, these features rack up quite a cost. All too often, handmade knives are too expensive to consider, and have unnecessary elements that add to the price.
We do things differently. While our knives aren’t cheap, we do everything we can to eliminate unnecessary costs, so that your hard earned money only goes towards top quality materials and handcrafted performance, while never compromising on where we source our materials or how we make our blades. Our designs start from scratches on a notepad, drawing from personal experience to make every aspect of our blades sculpted for the outdoors. While this old school approach will never be as fast or efficient as computers or industrial machines, we believe that for the outdoorsman, the care and quality that goes into a blade is far more important than the speed of it’s production.
Rod and Raven Forge is founded in this belief. There are more efficient ways to gather meat than trekking through the wilderness chasing elusive elk, and more sheltered ways to sleep than under the stars of a mountain camp, but it’s in these untamed pursuits that we’re most at home. Designed and crafted from the beginning for these moments, our blades are shaped by the wild spirit that draws into God’s Creation. Whether you’re deep in the backcountry, or doing the everyday jobs that get you there, our knives are right there with you.
Because that’s where they belong.
